Obituary of Robert Wayne Eliason

Robert Wayne Eliason, 81, passed away November 8, 2017 in Provo, Utah. He was born June 27, 1936 in Hyrum, Utah to John Thomas Eliason and Julia Lockett. He married Carla Jean Brenchley on September 16, 1960 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. After his wife’s passing, he married Kathleen Smith on April 20, 1979 in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple. Robert was a wonderful example of a loving husband and father. He taught for 40 years in the LDS church educational system and owned and operated Heritage Tours since 1974. Robert started the tour as a way to help recently graduated high school students get a feel for what the early Mormon pioneers went through and experienced, as well as provide a spiritual foundation to prepare them in serving a full-time mission. He had a passion for all things sports related, especially the game of golf. After shooting a round of 83 last year he said, "This will be the only game allowed to be played in heaven." We are pretty sure he has already played his first round. Robert is survived by his wife and children: Jeff (Michelle) Eliason, Jill (Chris) Boyce, Todd Eliason, Paul (Sherry) Johnson, Jana (Eric) Browning, Rees (Annie) Johnson, Tresha (Nate) Davis, Seth (Emily) Johnson, Emily Eliason, and Steven (Amber) Eliason, 49 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carla Eliason, 2 sisters, a brother, and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday November 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Pleasant View 5th Ward in Provo, Utah (2400 North 1060 East) with a viewing from 9:30-10:30am. A viewing will also be held Sunday November 12, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah. Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
