Remember, Remember, remember. Hold on. Stay in the boat. Heritage Tours 2017. I will be there. The bus -"A temple of learning" The 43rd Experience.
I can't thank this man, or those around him for changing my life, and helping my testimony grow. I needed to go on Heritage Tours, and I will meet him again. I WILL be there.

I loved him as he taught us at American Fork Seminary and on Heritage Tours. I've loved his (at least) yearly visits back to the seminary where I've taught now for the past 13 years. In the Church we often sing, "millions shall know 'Brother Joseph' again." Thousands of us who know the Prophet can thank Brother Bob Eliason. May God bless his memory and comfort his family.

I am so sorry for your loss! I still remember what a great man Bro. E was from my Heritage Tours trip 13 years ago! I am so incredibly grateful for him and all he did to make Heritage tours what it was. I was able to have amazing, memorable, testimony-building experiences because of Heritage Tours and am so grateful to your family for allowing him to take time away from you all to do that for people like me ❤️. May you come to find peace in his passing and know how many others he blessed with his life.

I have soooo many memories of Bro. E. as my ward member, seminary boss, 20 years on Heritage Tours, and great friend. I am so saddened by his death. One funny memory that we spoke of many times was in 1974, on the first year of the "Seminary Trip." Bro. E. was driving the bus and kept telling us that we needed to go into the truck stops and buy frozen bananas. We tried and tried and no one ever had the bananas. At a grocery stop, a group of us went to the banana section and took the Chiquita stickers off the bananas and decorated his driver's seat with the stickers and he allowed us to put one on the middle of his forehead. Later that day, we visited the RLDS Kirtland Temple. It wasn't until after the tour there, and returning to the bus, that he realized that he still was still wearing the Chiquita sticker on his forehead. He said he then understood why everyone there had looked at him so funny. For the rest of the trip his nickname was "Chiquita." I will really miss Bob. We spent hundreds of hours just talking on the bus as we 'Traveled the Road of our Lives'. There were many miracles that we we witnessed together. There are still so many more conversations I had expected to have with him. I truly loved my Bro. E. Until we meet again!

Bob Eliason was a great teacher not only of youth but also of colleagues. I was privileged to teach with Bob for eight years, Kim and I both went on Heritage Tours with him. He was very generous and kind to us and was a great friend. We are saddened by the news of his passing, and will pray for Tiinka and his wonderful family. Some of our favorite memories of American Fork come because of our association with this good man. We love you Bob and Tinka and all of the Eliason family.

"Uncle Bob", a man among men. What a patient, kind, loving example of goodness. Five of my six daughters were privileged to attend the Church Historical Sites and attend cultural events with Bob's Heritage Tours. He loved his family, and they love him back. We will miss you Brother Eli.

Oh Man...your dad was a great seminary teacher and bus driver on our 1978 trip out here to DC and around other church history sites...what a great example, leader, father, and great memories.
May peace of joy and life always be yours. Our sincere condolences to all who loves this family...wish I could attend the funeral services...unfortunately distance time is the only obstacle. Used to be in the 14th ward as a youth and played several games of football. Thanks for the happy times...

Bro. Eliason was my seminary instructor for both Junior & Senior High S in chool. He took our seminary class on a Church History bus trip to Echo Canyon. This was very memorable trip. He was very personable and made the trip enjoyable. He taught great classes and lived what he taught. He greatly has positively impacted my life. Also, enjoyed Carla as my piano teacher. Heaven's gain; our loss. Peace be unto the Eliason family. Memories can never be taken away, what great solace they give.

My memories and experiences I had on Heritage Tours have had such an impact on my life as well as my children. 4 out of my 5 kids had the opportunity to go on Heritage Tours with Brother Eliason and yes, he was still the bus driver! What a great man and what a great Legacy he left behind.

Gary and I send our love and prayer to the family, especially to Jeff and Jill. Kimberly is thankful for the dedication Brother Eilison showed for the Seminary Students and the wonderful experience through Heritage Tours. That trip was a experience I will never forget. Even now when return to Church History or National History sites, I always remember the time I was there on Heritage Tours. Brother Eilison was a true follower of our Savior, and the youth could feel that love.

I had the honor of being in Brother Eliason's seminary class my junior year at American Fork High (1981). I remember this quote from him about being on a diet - "When I turn sideways I will disappear!" Going on Heritage Tour has also impacted my life and got to share my sacred grove experience while on my mission and even now. At one time I thought about becoming a seminary teacher because of Brother Eliason's example and testimony.
My Tour came right after having D&C teaching in seminary and then having the honor of going to those church sites that summer was very special.
Thoughts and prayers to his family and you probably will not be able to comprehend the impact this great man had in the lives of so many but know that he is in a much better place!

What an incredible man. Heritage Tours impacted my life in a huge way. He taught me so much on the 3 trips I attended. His love for the youth, the restoration and Joseph Smith was a great blessing to all and an incredible example. I will miss his passion and conviction. He has impacted individuals and changed generations by his service and love. I cherish my time with him and all those involved in Heritage Tours.

My first memory of Bob was playing golf at DeBell Golf Course in Burbank, California. Bob, Tinka’s father, J. Alvin Smith and I played nine holes that day. From that day on Bob and I played golf together very often, almost weekly, as long as they lived in Burbank.
After Bob and Tinka moved back to Utah and later returned to live in Ventura, California we got together and played courses in Ventura County and surrounding area.
I always enjoyed being around Bob, whether on the golf course or in a church or social setting. He was a true gentleman.
My thoughts on Bob this day are: that he was “quietly competitive” on the golf course; was without guile, and a friend to all.
He will be missed.

I will miss Uncle Bob! My first memories of him are going to his house in American Fork with cousins for missionary farewells and homecomings and him serving his famous pot roast sandwiches. I still make them today for my family most Sundays, and will continue to do so and remember him. I remember how excited he was for me when I gave away my first Book of Mormon on Heritage Tours. He has a warm grin and enthusiasm that can’t be beat.

I have great memories of Brother Eliason. I was a member of his first August Heritage Tours group. We were a small group, which allowed him to get to know us (the teenagers) better. He gave me and my friends a lot of precious advice on that trip. There was one particular event our group will never forget and I'm quite sure Brother Eliason never forgot as well. While driving the bus across a long stretch through the Midwest somewhere during, it was dark and we (the kids) were rowdy and awake. Suddenly, we hit something loud and obviously bigger than a squirrel. Eli stopped the bus to check what he had run over. To his surprise, it was a full-grown deer. It was so hilarious, that my tour "family" purchased him a stuffed deer from our next stop. Eli kept the deer by him in the front dash for the remainder of the trip. :) He was the sweetest man. We knew we loved us. The world lost a wonderful, influential man.
