Obituary of Daniel Eric Bergman

DANIEL ERIC BERGMAN passed away on Friday, September 5 at the age of 37. Born to Rodney and Jill Bergman on April 28, 1977 in Santa Clara, California, Danny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, having 20 nieces and nephews. He married his high school sweetheart, Jamie, who cherished and loved Danny for his life and vitality. They were long-time residents of Draper and Highland, Utah. Danny is survived by his wife, Jamie Jorgensen Bergman, and his four children, Mason Matthew (13), Weston Daniel (11), Layla Jeske (8) and Millie Carma (5). He is also survived by his six siblings, Jennifer Edgmon, Vanessa Thelin, Rebecca DeMasters, Matthew Bergman, Kayte Bergman and Aaron Bergman. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Danny obtained an eagle scout award when he was 14, and was currently serving young men in the scouting program. Danny had a wonderful heart and served all who needed him. He attended American Fork High School where he was state champion springboard diver, afterwards attending the University of Nebraska, where he was an All-American diver and captain of the team. There, Danny worked at a group home with several mentally disabled men. Throughout his life, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hike, hunt and fish. Danny was an elementary school principal after obtaining his Master’s degree at the University of Utah. He was a beloved principal at Emerson Elementary in Salt Lake City, and was principal of Edison Elementary at his passing. Viewing will be held 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 9 at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North Highland, Utah. Viewing will also be held 9:45am – 10:45 am, Wednesday, September 10, at the Larson Park LDS Chapel, 6000 W 9600 N, Highland, prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am.
