Vern was my very first principal out of BYU in 1967. My mom knew of the Cleggs from Heber because she was a McDonald/Sims from Daniel. He was such a nice, helpful, kind man. I can imagine what a good father he must have been. Some of my fellow teachers that I am still in touch with remember him with great regard. I just wanted to share my warm feelings and thoughts about him even after all these years! Wish you the best and aren't we so glad that families are forever!

I had the distinct privilege of working with Vern for a number of years while we both served in the Jordan District Office. Vern service and ideas reflected his complete grasp of what elementary education was about. His kind and gentle approach to creating new strategies for better educating the youth he served, as well as his interactions with school staff and parents was impeccable. An educators educator.

A wonderful uncle! I will miss his excitement every time he saw me and how he never failed to tell me how proud he was of me and my little family. I love him very much! I am so happy to know I will see him again... and how excited he will be to see me. :)
