Obituary of Lane Vacher Christensen

Lane V Christensen, 62, passed away in American Fork, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Lane was born in American Fork, Utah on July 20, 1953 to Sherman Hans Christensen and Marilyn Vacher. Lane is the second oldest of five children. He attended American Fork High School. Following high school, Lane attended college and joined the National Guard. He married his high school sweetheart, Marianne Bateman, of Alpine, Utah on August 17, 1973 that was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. Lane and Marianne made their home in American Fork where they raised their three children Cole, Callee and Cody. Lane worked for Utah Power and Light for 43 years and was a hard working, dedicated employee. Lane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he had a strong testimony of the gospel and served in many capacities. He dedicated his life to being a loving and patient husband, father and grandfather. Lane treasured his family and especially his grandchildren. Lane enjoyed the outdoors and loved caring for his land and animals. Lane is survived by his wife, Marianne of nearly 42 years; children Cole (Haley) Christensen of Mapleton, Utah, Callee (Andrew) James of South Jordan, Utah, and Cody (Sarah) Christensen of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and 11 grandchildren; siblings Lynn Christensen, Karen Batty, Kaye Houston, Kim East and his mother Marilyn Christensen. Lane was preceded in death by his father Sherman Christensen. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Harbor 3rd Ward Chapel, 600 South 100 West, American Fork on Saturday, August 1st at 1:00 PM. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8pm at Anderson Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and again on Saturday from 11:45-12:45 pm at the chapel before the service. Internment at the American Fork City Cemetery.
