We are extremely stunned and saddened to see of Lane's passing. We knew him as a hard-working farmer down there south of the Freeway and just took it for granted he would last as long as the Mountains around us. I often saw and conversed with him back in the days when I would jog or walk down to the Lake with my dog Rosco when I was trying to stay in shape for the Air Guard. It was as nice to see him working the Fields on his Tractor around his Place as it was to see the Bucks and Does standing over along the Tree Line. I always envied him having such a nice chunk of Nature down there to fiddle around on. He was part of the Land and Salt of the Earth! The Christensen family has our deepest hearfelt condolences. We were away on Vacation last week, and did not learn of this terrible tragedy until just now. May God comfort and be with you! Sincerely - Scott and Connie Ormond, Pleasant Grove -

Marianne, Cole, Callee and Cody,
I too was shocked and saddened to learn of Layne's passing! My memories of Layne are numerous but I will share two.
I had the privilege of serving as Cody’s scoutmaster. For a time Cody served as the Senior Patrol Leader of the troop. That year we went to Camp Loll in Wyoming for our weeklong outdoor experience. Layne, and a few other fathers, attended with us. One of our day activities was touring Yellowstone National Park. Driving along the highway, with Layne in the front passenger seat of my car, we came upon a pretty big herd of Bison, right along the road! So, we pulled over to the shoulder and stopped to watch these amazing animals. In a few minutes Layne and I noticed a very, very large bull with a very, very large head coming toward us from the front. When the bull got to us he strolled right along my car, on the passenger side, rubbing the car with his massive body. When the big beast got to Layne’s window, his eye being even with Layne, I will never forget the look of concern on Layne’s face – it was pure fear. Layne’s eyes got real big! I really thought Layne was going to hop right over to my side of the car, on top of me! As we held our breath, wondering what going to happen, the big beast just moseyed on by. Boy, were we relieved he didn’t gouge the car or, worse, break the window! Layne always said that scout camp experience was the best he ever attended.
Layne and I are Star Trek fans. We really enjoyed seeing the movie Star Trek – First Contact together. We talked about it for months afterward and even enjoyed listening to the soundtrack. Live Long and Prosper Layne, we will miss you! David, Shawna, Matt and Marianne Wagaman

Dear Christensen Family, We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Lane. Our families have shared so many great times together. His warm and happy smile will be so missed. Your parents have helped my mom and dad so many times that can't be counted. They have had so many fun trips together. These memories become priceless at times like this. We can all remember our trip to California many years ago. I can see your dads face now as we pulled into our hotel in Sandrancedo It was petrifying to say the least! We will miss the great friend we all had in Lane. We are here for you all. Colleen and Mike Wall
