Obituary of Sheila Neerings
Sheila Neerings, 57, passed away from pneumonia on December 11, 2018 in American Fork, Utah. She is at peace from her earthly challenges. She was born November 17, 1961 to Theodore John Neerings and Janice Ann Ford Neerings.
Through her many disabilities, she influenced others wherever she went.
While living in Tonga between 1968 to 1971 she was an important example, showing the families that their disabled children matter. They should be seen and heard in their community and outside of their homes.
She loved to dance and sing to music. She always enjoyed petting or holding animals.
She spent the majority of her life at the Utah State Developmental Center. She had many caretakers and individuals that loved her. She was happy. She loved to sing and play jokes on others. Our family is so very grateful for the love and care provided to her.
Sheila enjoyed long drives with her mom and dad. She loved holidays, birthdays and any fun celebration.
She is survived by her mother Janice and her husband Harley, her sister Jill Hana Neerings, her brother Troy (Michelle) Neerings, and her sister Lisa (Stephen) West. She was precede in death by her father Theodore and grandparents, uncles and aunts.
