Mr. Snell was the teacher who had the greatest impact on my life. He taught me about things of far greater importance than English. He taught me about true repentance and the healing that comes through Christ. He reassured me of a loving Father in Heaven. He encouraged me to visit my bishop after learning of some personal struggles and sins I had been battling. Then he continued to follow up with me as I went through the steps of repentance. He cared more about my soul than my grade. Along my path in life I have shared my story with many people about how a English teacher in highschool changed my life. I will eternally be grateful to Mr. Snell for guiding me back to the path that I have been walking for the last 23 years. My knowledge of who I am and understanding of the attonment has brought me indescribable peace and joy.

Mr. Snell was one of my favorite teachers! I have so many found memories in his class... namely him standing up after announcements (and national anthem) to sing the Wyoming state song. I sure loved him and he will be missed.

I wanted say how much I respected the kindness of Lee. His students loved him because they knew he loved them. I am glad he and many of you were a part of my life.

“The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see.”
Mr. Snell was my favorite teacher at AF High. His love of learning was infectious and he shared his passion for literature and the written language. It was because of Mr. Snell that I became exposed to many different authors and genres that set me on the path to becoming a voracious reader. I still have a couple of books that I stole from his class.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and a great rapport with students. He was more than a teacher, he became a good friend, an advocate, a counselor and a mentor and he influenced my life in so many ways.
Mr. Snell was a talented poet and won the Utah Poet of the Year 2011 and had a book of poetry published! He had a beautiful way with words and I fall short in that area, so I’m going to steal some lyrics to a song that reminds me of him:
“It well may be, that we will never meet again in this lifetime.
So, let me say before we part.
So much of me, is made of what I learned from you.
You’ll be with me, like a handprint on my heart.
And now whatever way our stories end,
I know you have rewritten mine by being my friend.
Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”

Mr. Snell was an amazing teacher at Pleasant Grove Jr. High. He was very passionate about his profession. He instilled many great qualities into the students that he came in contact with. I reflect on the way he would read poems to our class and his read alouds for the class. Drawing me more and more into the story.
I know that I became a teacher myself because of the great experiences that I had with My teachers. There is a Quote about never knowing just how far your influence will go. To tell you the truth he has been an influence in my life. I hope I can instill as much passion for reading and English in the students that I teach as a Librarian and Keyboarding instructor for K- 9th grade students.
Mr. Snell you were a teacher that has changed my life for good. Thank you for the memories at PG Jr. High.

The Snell family was always part of my life growing up in Cowley. Lee was always someone we all looked up to. Everyone liked him. He was such a great example to all of us. I have many happy memories of being in their home.
I know You will miss Lee very much, but we know he is having a great reunion with his mom and dad and many others.
Sending love and prayers to all you “Snell kids” and your families.

I am so very sorry. I have so many fond memories of Lee, not least of which is the nickname(s) he dubbed me with, Spud, Spuddy, Spudnut. Despite being compared to a potato, I always knew that every time he called me that it was done in fun and with affection.
I love you all!!!
