I will really miss my Uncle Homer. He had a wry sense of humor, coupled with a wisdom that came from his various life experiences from his travels. As a young boy I remember his love for classical music attained (I assumed) during his Army days spent in Germany. He was so proud of the precious Deutsche Grammaphone records he brought home, and I can still hear the beautiful music filling the walls of the home on Forest Drive, in Santa Paula, when he visited. May God richly bless those that had the good fortune of being part of his life journey.

My earliest memory of enjoying his company is aided by a photo of Homer, myself and brother from the mid 1940's. The three of us are on the floor of his bedroom in his family's lovely spacious home in Santa Paula, California. Homer is very proudly showing us his models he made from his erector set. He was very patient with us younger children. After he had honorably served in the US Army, we attended Ventura College together in 1959 and I saw all of his home varsity basketball games where he played in the Center position. We visited each other throughput our life. We last met in my family home a few years ago in Ventura, California and before that in Phoenix, Arizona, and Reno, Nevada. He enjoyed helping with our Reed family history, but most of all telling us about his daughter's outstanding academic success.
