I had the privilege to serve as a counselor in Relief Society with Sharon after moving to American Fork from North Orem. I loved the times we shared together and will forever treasure the things we shared as we met and planned for our service. Many times, we met and she brought humor, joy, love and compassion for the sisters we served. I unfortunately did not see the obituary in time to go to her funeral. I had been watching for a notification each day. I love this wonderful strong woman with so many talents and so much love she always shared with all she knew. My life has been made better by my brief association with her. Blessings to all of your family. I know she dearly loved you and is grateful for the many gifts of love you shared with her. She is now going forward and continuing to impact lives. Blessings will be many as she does so.

Sharon was the mom I dreamed of having! She took us under her wing when we moved in 2 doors down from her. When my husband and I and our daughters were sealed in the temple, Sharon sat in for my mom (my mother is not a member of the church). She has always been very special to my family. My daughter Jessica (serving a mission in Richmond, VA) told me she remembers how Sharon would make her rocks change color for her when she was a little girl (just by wetting them!) Jessica says that is why she has collected rocks over the years! I am honored to have known your mom and blessed to have her as my friend. I will miss her beautiful smile and kind heart! God bless you Sharon Dustin, you will hold a special place in the Hewlett family hearts forever!!!!

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to the Dustin/Trahan families. All my love and prayers to you all. I am so sorry for your loss. Sharon’s kindness and adventurous spirit are permanently engraved in my memories. I remember how she put on a whole circus for the neighborhood kids and I got to be a clown. She generously opened her home when Lana and I had to suffer together with Chicken Pox. She had the most beautiful rose display on a trellis in her back yard and whenever I see one similar, I think of Sharon Dustin’s. She always had a way of making you feel welcome and like part of the family whenever you were in her home. Sharon was so positive and always encouraged others to try and try again.

Sharon is only a few years younger than myself. My husband, Revier and myself have known her since her move to Lancaster. Before marrying Alan, she had another suitor who became very jealous of her future boyfiriends. He would stalk her and she told me that she feared that he might harm her. However, another girl diverted his attention from Sharon and Sharon proceeded in her life without his unwanted attentions.
We enjoyed being in Sharon's presence. She would light up the area that she was in and draw others into her happiness.
We are sorry to be away from her at this time but look forward to again being with her. Our condolences to her children and grandchildren and 2 1/2 Great grancildren.
Love, Revier and Merretta Palmer

The first time I met your mother, we had just moved into the ward. She was conducting music in sacrament and, as the congregation started singing, she stopped everyone and gave us a little chewing out because we were not singing with feeling and gusto. After she explained to us the meaning and why our spirits should be singing louder, she started us up again. That was the BEST I have ever heard a congregation sing. I thought she was SO BRAVE and amazing to have educated the entire congregation. I wanted to know her and I'm SO GLAD I did get to know her. She always brightened my life and was so strong. She has been a guiding light to me and I was so happy my son considered her another mother when he spent time over at the Dustin house. No one has been able to get a group of young men together and sing so beautifully as Sharon could do.
I love her and look forward to seeing her in the eternities.
