Obituary of Jennett Smithson Chandler
Jennett Smithson Chandler, 81, died from ALS on June 7, 2018 in American Fork, Utah, born to Nephi Smithson Jr. and Ulah Viola Wall on January 23, 1937 in Neola, Utah. She married David Lee Chandler on December 21, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Jennett was known for her bright personality, her beautiful paintings and her love of the Savior. As a member of the LDS Church, she served in various callings, notably as a missionary in the Central Atlantic States and in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. She loved dance, music, singing in the choir, playing the piano by ear, and especially oil painting. She helped paint murals in two LDS temples and was commissioned to paint other works, including several book covers.
Survived by her children: Jill (Carlos) Johnson-Garcia, Brad (Karen) Chandler, Heidi (Dick) Maack, Lance Chandler, Penny (Dan) Craft, Grant (Stacy) Chandler, Ginger (Andrew) Ford, Carrie (Mark) Wimmer and Scott (Heather) Chandler, her siblings: Rulon Smithson, Carl Smithson, Lora Braithwaite, and Elaine Youngberg, 26 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and 6 siblings.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11th at 11:00 am at the Lindon 1st Ward, 56 E 600 N, Lindon. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 10th from 6-8 pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork and 9:45 to 10:45 at the church prior to the service. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
