Obituary of Ronald Hepworth Smith

Ronald Hepworth Smith February 13, 1934 November 4, 2017 On Saturday, November 4, 2017, the world lost a great man. Ron, our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He is reunited with his Father and Mother and his brother (J.R.) as well as brothers-in-law who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sisters; Irene (Keith) Longson, Elaine (Larry) Brown, Myrna (Rickie) Bruce. Ronald was born February 13, 1934, in Salt Lake City to Joel and Ida Hepworth Smith and was raised in Centerville. Ron married Diane Austin, the love of his life, on May 29, 1962. They were blessed with 4 children, Austin (Debra) Smith, Lorale McKnight, Cassie Smith, and J.R. (Marci) Smith. Ron was also blessed with 2 children from a previous marriage, Reid and Vickie Smith. Ron loved all of his kids as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron put his family first and worked hard to provide for them. He moved furniture for Allied Van Lines for over 30 years, and although this took him away from home quite a bit, he sacrificed because he knew it was the best way he could provide for his loved ones. Ron loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting as well as watching his “pet” deer and quail that lived in his yard. Ron will always be remembered for his sense of humor and the unconditional love he gave. He is loved and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and one hour before services on Thursday at Anderson & Sons Mortuary at 49 East 100 North American Fork, Utah. Services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 11:00. The interment will be at the Alpine Cemetery.
