Brent Bateman

Joseph Brent Bateman, 75, of Alpine, Utah passed away April 18, 2018.  He was born in 1943 in American Fork, Utah. He was the son of Wilford Waldo and Maurine Fage Bateman.

Brent graduated from American Fork High School.  He served a mission in Austria from 1962-1965.  He married his childhood sweetheart, Elaine Anderson on August 6, 1965 in the Logan LDS Temple.  They had 12 children. He enjoyed many different kinds of hobbies.  He loved family time, watching movies and  having a full house.  He was proud of his Alpine Heritage. Brent graduated from BYU with his Bachelor’s degree in Education. He worked at Geneva Steel, the Utah Prison and worked for 30 years as a Probation and Parole officer for the State of Utah. 

Survived by his children, Jenny (Bill) Myers; Janet Bateman; Joey (LeeAnn) Bateman; Jordan (Michelle) Bateman; Jerusha (Kris) Riser; John Bateman; Jeanna (Lyle) Swapp; Judy (Michael) Gardner; Jim (Natalie) Bateman; Jared (Julie) Bateman; Josh Bateman.  He had 28 grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Randall Bateman.   He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; a daughter Julia, and his parents and sisters.

A viewing will be held Sunday April 22 from 6 to 8 pm. at  Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland.

A viewing will also be held Monday April 23, from 9:45 to 10:45 at Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland. 

A family graveside service will follow at the Alpine City Cemetery.
