Obituary of Mary Martha Gaylor Nicol

Our Blessed Mother, Mary Martha (Marcie) Gaylor Nicol, 91, passed away March 5, 2017 in Lehi, Utah.  She was born March 20, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Theodore Roosevelt Gaylor and Golda Delight Hinkson Allen.  She married Alva Moroni Nicol In 1946 in Provo, Utah.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.  Together they raised 7 children.  Marcie retired from the BYU telephone communications dept.  After retirement she was able to realize her lifelong dream of world travel.  Her family was foremost in her life and would often accompany her in her travels.  Marcie was an active member of the LDS Church.  She spent many hours doing genealogy extraction for the church and serving in many other callings.  She loved her Family, Faith, and Friends.


She is survived by her children: Jan (John) Carpenter, Steve (Shirlee) Nicol, Tressa van Rij, Shauna Chamberlain (Rick Withers), Gayle (Rick) Hubbard, Scott (Sue) Nicol, & daughter-in-law Sherri Nicol.  Marcie had 20 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, 2 ½ great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son Rick Nicol, and son-in-law Paul van Rij.


A viewing will be held from 10-10:45 at Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Mortuary, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland prior to graveside services on Saturday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove
