Obituary of Delma Kay Huntsman Olsen
Delma Kay Huntsman Olsen was born April 25, 1941 to Delbert and Norah Kathleen (Kay) Woodham Huntsman in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the second child and the first daughter born to the couple. Three younger brothers and two younger sisters would later follow. She moved many times in her early years until settling in Pleasant Grove, UT where she graduated from high school.
She married Arthur "Gary" Olsen on August 17, 1959. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple with their 6 children (4 girls and 2 boys]. Delma's life was dedicated to her family, which included 25 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren, and the LDS church. She had several callings in the church many of which involved working with the youth through sports, scouts, and teaching them the gospel. She had a passion for painting and loved sharing her many talents with others.
Her outgoing personality and competitive nature brought her many life-long friends and she will be dearly missed. Delma returned home to her loved ones and heavenly father on September 23.
She is survived by her daughters; Julie, Nickie, Trudee, and Mary, and her siblings; Mike, Russ, Jeanie, and Fran. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Gary, sons; Gary Jr. and Rod, grandson Del, and brothers; Tiny and Stacy.
Funeral services will be Thursday September 28, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Mount Mahogany 5th Ward, 1541 North 1300 West, Pleasant Grove, UT. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel 6141 West 11000 North, Highland, UT and at the church Thursday from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will take place at the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
