Obituary of Darrell F Dean
Darrell F Dean, 89, passed away peacefully Friday morning, May 23, 2014 from natural causes. He was born Dec. 9, 1924 in American Fork, Utah to Oscar James Dean and Annie Louise Sims. He married June Thompson, Sept. 22, 1953 in Elko, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 16, 1992.
He is survived by the following children: Sondra (Gary) Angell, Taylorsville; Larry (Sherrie) Williams, American Fork; Norine (Alan) Johnson, Orem; Janet (Jeffrey) Worms, American Fork; one sister, Bernice Beckstead, Riverton. He was also the proud grandpa of 31 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, Reed Dean; Howard A. Cunningham, and his daughter Rose Ann Dean Wright, his parents , four brothers: Reed, Elwood, Rolland, Clifford; three sisters: Laurena, Hazel and Norma.
In 89 years he lived a full live. His life was one that saw many changes. He lived through the Great Depression. He witnessed wars and inventions that changed the world. He watched the first man walk on the moon. He studied history and witnessed the rise and fall of leaders and countries. He was a proud member of "The Greatest Generation". Fighting in both WWII and Korea. Yet the thing he lived for and worked hardest for was his family and his friends. He never turned a person in need away. Darrell left this earth to be with his eternal sweetheart, his children and his family.
We now invite you to celebrate his life and his farewell to a journey well deserved. His services will be held at 1 pm Friday, May 30, 2014 at Anderson & Sons Mortuary,49 East 100 North, Am. Fork. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the American Fork Cemetery.
