Obituary of Hubert & Alana Issel

Alana L. Uibel Issel 1949-2014 Hubert R. Issel 1943-2014 Alana L. Uibel Issel and Hubert R. Issel died instantly from a tragic UTV accident while camping with their family over Memorial Day weekend. Alana L. Uibel Issel was born to Thelma and Fred Uibel December 1949 in Canada. Hubert R. Issel was born to Elsie and Hubert C. Issel November of 1943 in Ohio. Hubert and Alana were married on February 8th of 1973 and sealed for time and all eternity on September 16th of 1983. They had been parents from the beginning, and continued to be devoted parents, grandparents, and great grandparents every day of their lives. Hubert fell in love with Utah when attending Utah State University. He came back when he was stationed in Utah after serving in Vietnam. He loved the outdoors and loved to share those experiences with his family. He was retired from Geneva Steel, but continued to be actively involved as a consultant for various companies. Hugh also spent many hours as a temple worker. Alana was born in Canada, but moved to Utah at a young age. She was a young mother of two when they met and married. Alana was the type of person who could do anything and taught her kids the same. Alana spent her time in the service of her family, never in the service of herself. Alana was a temple worker, humanitarian, mom, Nana and “Great” Nana. Hubert is survived by his sister: Nancy Issel Wilson. Alana is survived her siblings: Trudy Dowling, Brent Uibel, & Marsha Bosworth. Children: Michelle Issel Anderson, Mitchel Issel, & Jana Issel White. Grandchildren: Britney, Braydin, Kaylin, Austin, Brooke, Kadin, Rylee, Cooper, & Cameron. Great grandchildren: Evelyn. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 21st Ward, 280 North 900 East. A viewing will be held Sunday, June 1st from 6-8 pm at Anderson Mortuary , 49 East 100 North, American Fork, UT and Monday from 9:45-10:45 am. at the church before the funeral. Burial in Orem Cemetery.
