Obituary of Lila Virginia Hunter
Our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Lila Virginia Hansen Hunter, passed away on January 17, 2015.
Mom was born May 5, 1927 at home in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mahlin Sirus Hansen and Bertha Delilah Ohran. She was oldest of 5 children.
Virginia moved to Speedway, Indiana at age 3 and returned to Utah in 1942. She attended American Fork High School, LDS Business College and BYU. She married Dee R. Hunter. Virginia worked as an accountant with Dee in his CPA firm from 1950 until she retired in 1977. She loved to paint and play the piano and organ. She loved to garden and raise flowers. But most of all she loved taking care of her boys.
Mom and Dad were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 4, 1984. Mom enjoyed her callings in the church. She wrote and directed many road shows and served in the Young Women’s and as Relief Society organist. She and dad loved to travel in their motor home and were able to visit much of the United States and Western Canada.
Virginia is survived by 2 sons: Steven Dee (Connie) and Lynn Mahlin (Diane), 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Paul (Mary) Hansen, Vernis Madsen, Melissa (Don) Peterson and Carl (Linda) Hansen
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Dee, her parents and her son, Dale Walter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at Orchard Hills Chapel Hillcrest 1st Ward, 949 North 540 West, American Fork. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at American Fork Cemetery.
