Obituary of Naomi Lida patterson Johnson

Naomi Lida Patterson Johnson “Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother” Naomi Lida Patterson Johnson, 86, passed away March 15, 2015 in Provo, Utah. Born October 11, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Thomas and Eudora Tuttle Patterson. Naomi married Joseph Bent Johnson November 17, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Joseph Bent passed away December 31, 2002. Naomi was a very sick baby not expected to live. She had the rickets so they carried her around on a pillow, as she was so fragile. She fully recovered and became a very strong tomboy who helped her sister care for their big family farm in Alpine, Utah during World War II. She could outrun any boy. One day her younger brothers' friends were amazed as they watched her pick up two 50-pound sacks of flour, throw them over her shoulders and leap over a fence like a deer. After high school graduation, she moved to Salt Lake City with her older sisters where she worked as a secretary and several years later met Joseph Bent. Naomi and her sister Leone married brothers Joseph and George on the same day. Naomi lived her life for her family and for the Lord. She was a great example of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent her life raising her children, serving in the LDS church, working as an LDS temple worker and doing genealogy. In 2014, she completed a Life History book of her parents. Her sister Jewel and Naomi’s daughters worked for years with her getting this priceless 570 page hardbound book published for her family. Naomi is survived by her children: Susan J Madsen (Richard), Joseph T Johnson (Ranee), Naomi J Stewart, Benjamin P Johnson (Vickie), Paul R Johnson (Sarah), 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, Siblings: Maurice Patterson, Edward Patterson and Letitia Marshall.
