Obituary of Noreen Carey Macbean
Our beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, Noreen Carey Macbean passed away on Saturday, March 28th as the result of a tragic accident in Lehi, Utah.
Noreen was born on December 21, 1977 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Ernest and Lynn Carey. Her four older siblings were excited to get their beautiful baby sister home on Christmas Eve. When she was 18 months old, her family moved to Laie, Hawaii, where she lived until she was 14. She loved Laie and, despite her blonde hair and green eyes, considered herself to be a “local girl.” In 1992 she moved to Utah where she graduated from Orem High School in 1995.
Noreen met Allen Macbean in 1997 and from that time forward they were inseparable friends and companions, marrying in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple in January 1998. Always up for an adventure, Noreen loved to fly, camp, hike, bike, snowshoe, and spend time with her family, friends and beloved dog Chuck. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and accepted many callings including serving as a temple ordinance worker alongside her husband Allen. She especially loved teaching the youth in her wards, and during her years of service she formed a special bond with many of them.
Noreen is survived by her adoring husband, Allen of American Fork; her mother, Lynn Carey of Lehi; her father, Ernest (Candy) Carey of Orem; brother, Don (Kara Jo) Carey of Willow Park, Texas; sister, Karralee Morgan of Lehi; sister, Marrianne (Dale) Asay of Highland; sister, Jennifer (Greg) Olney of Heber City; in-laws, Stan and Corinne Macbean of Orem; sister-in-law, Janice (Chad) Chorniack of Orem; brother-in-law Don (Kristie) Macbean of Astoria, NY; brother-in-law Brian (Aubry) Macbean of Harper’s Ferry, WV; and Jeff Macbean of Orem; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Noreen was loved and cherished by her nieces and nephews, Anna and Alyssa Carey; Camaron and Jacob Morgan; Rachael, Dallin, and Nathan Asay; Adrienne, Sera, Quincy, McKenna, and Taft Olney; Jessica, Taylor, Ashlyn McKenna and Braxton Chorniack; Luke, Mckenzie, Ethan, and Vivian Macbean. She is preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Carey, who died in infancy.
