Obituary of Sam Demonja
Sam DeMonja, age 85, passed away on April 20, 2015. Born November 27, 1929 to Marko and Draginja DeMonja in Newstead, New York. He married Brigitte Maria Celler on December 16, 1950 and they were later sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Whenever you asked Sam how he was, his answer was, “Terrific!” He had a powerful positive nature. Nothing was impossible to him until it was proven to be impossible. Sam’s dreams were so big the world could hardly contain them. This same power connected with his ability to forgive. He forgave all who offended him and moved on scarcely looking back and wondering about what could have been. His solution to every problem was to apply his nose harder to the grindstone to grind the trouble into oblivion. Sam’s life was founded on the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He learned to love and help and sacrifice and forgive and encourage and counsel and reprimand as the Lord would. The world is definitely a better place because of his contribution. The same will be said of heaven now that he and his sweet wife are back to working together.
He is survived by his children: Marko (Chris) DeMonja, Robin (Dana) O’Crowley, Kelly D (Kelly R) Reimschiissel, Tracy Stubbs, Milan (Kimberly) DeMonja, niece, Valery (Reed) Elder, 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, his parents, 2 grandchildren and 10 brothers and sisters.
