Obituary of Gaylon L. Winters
Gaylon Lycortas Winters 83, passed away June 8, 2017 in Lindon Utah surrounded by his family. Gaylon was born October 26, 1933 to Arthur Ray and Norma Irene Sundberg Winters. He married Merma Proctor on August 25, 1974. The marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on August 1, 1995. Gaylon served in the Air Force and later worked for Western Electric and Savage Brothers. He was a Temple Ordinance worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple for 5 years. He will always be remembered for his love of children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Merma, children, Rick (Bobi) Hunter, Nancy (Glen) Gray, Jill (Kelly) Southwick, his children from a previous marriage, Jacolyn (Don) Hunter, Steven (Misty) Winters, Alan (Bridgette) Winters, Jeffrey (Wendy) Winters, Virginia (Jonathan) Winters, 31 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren, sisters Norma Freeman and Mary Brower.
He is proceeded in death by his son Gaylon Brent Winters, his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. A viewing will be held Friday, June 16th from 9:30 am – 10:45 am at Anderson & Sons Mortuary 49 E 100, American Fork, UT. Dedication of the grave will follow at the American Fork Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Encompass Hospice, his nurse Jared Moore, Spring Gardens and neighborhood friends for their loving care.
