Obituary of J Clark Maughan Brenchley
J Clark Maughan Brenchley, beloved father and grandfather, left his earthly home on Thursday, May 14, 2015 to join his loved ones in heaven. Clark was born October 26, 1937, third child to Louis and Alta Brenchley in Wellsville Utah, Cache County. He was active in Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle, Civic and church activities, completing his Duty to God, as a youth, as well as working alongside his family in their dairy on a daily basis.
Clark entered the Army after high school for a short time before completing an LDS mission in London England. On completion of his mission he returned to the states where he met VerLee Huntsman (Deceased) of Enterprise Utah. Clark and VerLee were married for time and all eternity on December 16, 1961 in the St. George LDS Temple. The couple made their home in Provo Utah while completing their education. Clark graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Education in 1967. Quite a challenge with four children at home.
Clark Brenchley taught school in Salt Lake County School district, as well as at the Utah Developmental Center in American Fork. He also worked with the Utah State Division of Family Services before retiring in 1997. Throughout this time Clark was a constant member of the LDS church working within the Sunday school and Priesthood organizations. He was a great example and inspiration to his family. At the time of his death he was a High Priest in the LDS Church.
After the death of his wife in 1996, Clark met and married Euniece O’Neal in June 1997 within the Timpanogos Temple in American Fork Utah. The couple made their home for many years in Salem Utah where Clark enjoyed gardening, woodcraft, and volunteered constantly at the LDS Bishops storehouse and packing plant.
Clark Brenchley is survived by his second wife; Euniece 0’Neal, and 8 children: Robyn Robinson (Joseph) Lehi, Utah; Wendy Lee Harper (Jay) Honolulu, Hawaii; L Scott Brenchley (Molly) Spanish Fork, Utah; Tamara Brenchley (Sean Taylor) Salt Lake City, Utah; Debra Lynn Mander (Denton), Saratoga Springs, Utah; April Dawn McKenna (Jason), Roosevelt, Utah; Heidi Brenchley, Saratoga Springs, Utah; Gregory Clark Brenchley (Natasha) Taylorsville, Utah. He is also survived by 5 siblings, 4 stepchildren, 31 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife; VerLee Huntsman Brenchley, his parents; Louis and Alta Brenchley, in-laws; Leland and Wanda Huntsman, son; Wayne Clark Brenchley, son-in-law; Denton Mander; 2 brother-in-laws and a sister-in-law.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, at the Lehi Utah, Jordan River Stake Center, 1174 So 1700 W. Lehi, Utah, Monday, May 18, 2015. Viewing will be held Sunday Evening, May 17, 6:00-7:30 pm at Anderson and Sons Mortuary in American Fork, Utah and prior to services 9:30 am- 10:45 am on Monday, May 18.
