Obituary of marvin john laycock
Marvin John Laycock, age 81, passed away on August 16, 2015 in Murray. Born July 14, 1934 in Provo, UT to John Snider and Ella Carlton Laycock. He married Arlene Jeanette Coles on August 14, 1953 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 30, 1954.
He owned Marvin J. Laycock & Son Masonry and later worked for the LDS church as a maintenance supervisor. Marvin was an active member of the LDS church who served in many callings. He served 3 LDS Missions with his wife. He loved family history work. He had a very deep love for his country. Spending time enjoying his family was his greatest joy.
Survived by his wife, children: Doug (Cathy) Laycock, Sheri (Travis) Fraughton, Lori (Larry) Waters-Jones, Kristy (John) Qualls, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and siblings: Marlene Fraughton, Lloyd (Linda) Laycock, Deanna Laycock. Preceded in death by his parents, a son Clint, a son-in-law Kevin Waters, and a great granddaughter Haylee Ann Waters.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 12:00 noon at American Fork 3rd Ward Hillcrest Stake Center, 165 North 350 West. Viewings will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Fountain Green 2nd Ward chapel, 151 South 200 West, Fountain Green and Saturday from 9:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services in the American Fork 3rd ward, Hillcrest Stake Center.
