Obituary of Richard Neil Lewis
Richard Neil Lewis, 87, of American Fork passed away September 27, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 17, 1928 in Elko, Nevada the son of Preston and Josephine Hutchinson Lewis. He married Shirley Shepard they later divorced. He married Jeanette Wagstaff they were later divorced. He married Doris Coates on May 28, 1975 in Elko, Nevada and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2007.
Richard loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping especially when he was with his family and his dogs. He is a WWII Navy veteran. He is a woodworker and was known as an innovative tinkerer who could make anything work with the materials that he had available. Richard worked for Geneva Steel for 41 years in the Blast Furnace.
Survivors include his children: Sherry Gardner; Kelly (Shauna) Monson; Cindy (Tom) Ruckman; Dale (Michelle) Monson; Brent (Tresa) Monson; Kyle (Jess) Lewis; daughter in-law Kay Lewis, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, three sons, Mark, Richard Jr., and Dan Lewis, four sisters, two brothers and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday October 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, Am. Fork. Where a viewing will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10 45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery.
