Obituary of Richard Orson Tyler
Richard Orson Tyler (age 79) passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the American Fork Hospital in Utah where he was admitted for severe respiratory complications caused by acute renal failure. He was born February 22, 1936 in Los Angeles, California to Orson and Lisla Tyler and was the youngest child and only boy.
When he was three his family moved to Lone, California, where they lived for the next seven years. At ten his family moved to Santa Clara, California, where he lived the majority of his life. Richard graduated from Santa Clara High School. After high school he took employment as a custodian for local theaters and ultimately took a job as a custodian for the LDS church where he worked until he retired. In 2011, health issues brought him to Utah where he would be close to one of his sisters.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Orson Fernando Tyler, mother Lisla Jane Tyler, and sisters Lila Rae Whitesides, Doris Tyler Kearns, and Betty Jean Tyler. He is survived by his sister Joan Beryl Johnson and 19 nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing for him from 4:00-4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Lone Peak Chapel (6141 West 11000 North, Highland, Utah). He will be interred immediately after in the Highland City Cemetery (6100 W. 11000 North, Highland, Utah).
