Obituary of Chloe Bertelsen Low
Chloe Bertelsen Low, 84 of Alpine, passed away December 25, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born October 19, 1931 in Spanish Fork, Utah the daughter of Erwin and Selma Olsen Bertelsen. She married David Stewart Low April 27, 1951 in Springville, Utah their marriage was later solemnized June 15, 1968 in the Bern Switzerland LDS Temple.
Chloe was a beautiful seamstress who loved to knit and crochet. She made her daughters formals and her wedding gown. She was an immaculate housekeeper and master gardener where her yards looked like they could be in Better Homes and Gardens. She was active in civic committees and loved to read and to watch BYU Sports. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings and was the chorister in the Relief Society at the time of her death. Due to her husband being in the Air Force for 25 years she moved about 30 times in her lifetime all over the U.S., Germany, and Canada.
Survivors include her children: David Morris Low (Jennifer); Karen Low Spence (Ronald); grandchildren: Chelsey Low Risher (Taylor); Chad Spence (Therese); Julie Spence Pia (Joe); Jeremy Spence; Stewart Low; 11 great grandchildren; her brother Scott Bertelsen (Carol); Mona Low, her sister-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband, her sisters Lorraine and Donna and her brother Ron.
The family would like to thank the staff of River Meadows, which she has called home for the past 9 years and all of the hospice caretakers for their tender loving care.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery.
