Obituary of Daniel eugene swenson
Daniel Eugene Swenson age 61 of New Richmond, Wisconsin, passed away December 25th 2015 after fighting a long battle with Pulmonary Hypertension. Dan had such a sweet, loving spirit and was beloved by all who met him. He was born in Los Angeles, California on November 24th, 1954 to Ramona Joanne and Eugene Holt Swenson. He was a beautiful red head little boy who instead of playing outside preferred to stay inside learning to cook and bake with his mother. Danny also loved going to the library with her. He has always had a love of learning and reading was one of his favorite pastimes. He grew up in Southern California alongside his two brothers Timothy Holt, Michael Ernest and his sister Susan Ione and loved them all very much.
He remained in Southern California until he served a LDS mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he fell in love with the culture and people. After returning home he eventually married his sweetheart Patricia Indo. They were sealed in the Los Angeles temple on May 31, 1980. They began their family right away and had 3 daughters Melody Colleen, Krystle Elizabeth, Allyson Claire, and a son Jonathan Daniel Eugene. He was a devoted father and his children all adore him. They moved to Utah in 1991 where he continued his prestigious banking career with American Express.
After residing in Utah for many years, he received the opportunity to advance his career with Ameriprise Financial and made the decision to move to New Richmond, Wisconsin. After moving to Wisconsin, he rediscovered his love and excitement for his Norwegian heritage. He loved the cold winters and pickled herring. He would always jokingly tell his daughters to try it because it would put hair on their chest.
In early 2012, Dan became ill and was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. At the time he was diagnosed, he was given only a few months to live. As a result, he retired early which gave him the chance to develop many new hobbies including embroidery, rock tumbling and lapidary as well as acoustic and electric guitar playing. He also really enjoyed watching murder mysteries such as Colombo. Dan was very grateful for the gospel in his life and loved to visit with his home teachers Mike Osborne and Tom Anderson who became his best friends in his last years. Dan fought hard and despite being told he only had months to live, remained with his family for another 3 years. He so loved his family and cherished anytime spent with his children and grandchildren. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh that made everyone around him laugh and smile along with him. To know him was to love him. Dan was such an amazing man who has touched the lives of so many. Our beloved father, son, brother and friend - he will be forever missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ramona Joanne Swenson and Eugene Holt Swenson and survived by his children, Melody Colleen (Cory) Trickett, Krystle Elizabeth (Cameron) Carter, Allyson Claire (Skott) Nilson, Jonathan Daniel Eugene Swenson, grandchildren James Collin Trickett, Jacob Carter Trickett, Jordyn Elizabeth Carter, Ellie Bailee Nilson, Skeeter Draedyn Nilson, Kamryn Olivia Carter and siblings, Timothy Holt Swenson, Michael Ernest (Rita) Swenson and Susan Ione White.
