I had the pleasure of being a good friend of George's over the past 18 years and can say without a doubt that he is one of the best people that I have been fortunate enough to know. His knowledge and passion for collectables was a gift that he was kind enough to share with me which definitely changed the way looked at rare and unique things. I have always known George to be a kind and honest man with an "old school" way of thinking that was refreshing to see in this day and age. I shared his love of animals and can only imagine him running with his old black lab "Scout" somewhere in the hills of God's domain. He often spoke of his family and the love that he has for them. I am so hopeful that they will be able to endure this great loss with as little pain as is possible in a situation such as this. I will most definitely miss this kind man's company when he would visit me at my home.
May peace be with the Ricks family during this trying time.

As a former member of the Third Ward, our family is saddened with the news of George's passing. I remember having him as a Cub Scout and learning how to cast a fishing pole. George was one my favorite men and I looked up to him. We are keeping your family in our prayers and send our sympathies.

I worked, fished, hunted, and jogged with George before he retired from Corrections. I am shocked and saddened to learn of his untimely passing. I too have often thought about George since his retirement, and deeply regret not staying in touch. My love and sympathy to his family.

I worked with George many years ago at the prison. I thought about him many times over the years and wondered how he was doing. This news saddens me. George was just a super nice guy. I thought of him as one of my very good friends. To the Ricks family, I'm so sorry for your loss. George was a great man.

I am sorry to learn of George's passing. He was a good friend in High School. George, Dale and I ran track together. After reading about his life, you can tell he was an inspiration to many. Our prayers are with your family during this time.
