Shortly after moving here to American Fork, Reed and were called to be temple workers. I got to know Norma very soon because she worked on Wednesdays and I worked on Fridays, and we made an agreement that when one or the other of us need a sub, we would have someone we could count on, as subs were hard to get. So this little connection started a warm friendship between us. She taught me how to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ with her always happy, spiritual, and friendly personality, no matter what might be going on in her life. I have felt that to know her was to love her, and I do--did.

Norma was a kind and generous woman. She is the grandmother to my dear friend, Beckie, and I stayed at her home a few times while visiting Beckie. Norma was quick to make a grilled cheese sandwich for a guest or share yummy veggies from her garden. I was the recipient of both. I remember getting to see her once while she was serving in the temple, a calling in which she served faithfully. My favorite memory, however, is that staying up late one night and watching Fiddler On the Roof together. I suppose I considered Norma a second grandma and I will miss her.

One day my 4 yr old was playing in the front yard while I was inside doing chores. When I went out to get her, she was gone. When I finally found her, she had been at Norma's house, just chatting and eating cookies with her. She was such a sweet lady and one time brought us donuts just because. We will miss her!

I was privileged to be Norma's visiting teacher about 15 years ago. I was a young mother and she was a wise grandmother who showered me with love. She was welcoming when I had to bring a small child with me and always had a smile on her face.
I was able to witness her strong faith when she lost her dear husband. She knew she would be with him again and endured faithfully all these years. I know she has had many joyous reunions with Jim and others since her passing.
Knowing Norma has made me a better person. I love you Norma.

I never recall ever visiting with Norma but that she ALWAYS had a smile on her face. I learned from her early on that even when things don't go as planned, a smile will help you along!
I also remember how pleased Norma was when the men of our ward dubbed themselves the "Sullivan Singers" and sang for Jim's funeral. My husband considered it an honor to sing for her at that time, and it has been a very fond memory for us all these years. Norma will be missed as part of our Ward Family.
