Obituary of Eugene Raymond Hilgenberg

Eugene Raymond Hilgenberg, 86, passed away June 27, 2017 in American Fork, Utah surrounded by his family. Born October 8, 1930 in Bronx, New York the son of George William and Anna Lupes Hilgenberg. He married Christina Mary Lynch May 28, 1954 in Bronx, New York; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 18, 1974. Eugene loved baseball especially his beloved Yankees. He loved his country, his family, learning history and spending time outdoors in the nearby mountains. He is loved by his family especially his grandchildren with whom he made many memories. He is known for his woodworking hobby and family members cherish the gifts he created with his hands. Eugene’s family is deeply grateful to Encompass Home Health and Hospice and The Beehive Home American Fork South for their tender, loving care. Survivors include: his children, Lori Murdock; Daniel (Lynette) Hilgenberg; Patricia (Paul) Fjeldsted; Carol (Jan) Carlson; Jeanne (Mark) Van Wagoner; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Christina, daughter Christine and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 1, 2017 at 11:00 am in the American Fork 21st Ward, (280 North 900 East). A viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, (49 East 100 North, Am. Fork) and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services in the church. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery.
