I was blessed to Be a caregiver to Haley from 2010-2012. I would visit after that when I could till her passing. I got to say good bye to her just a couple days before & even though she was asleep I just knew that she knew I was there. she was such a joy to be around. We were close in age (4 yrs so we formed a close bound. She shared same bday as my grandpa Vaughn (10/03/14/). I knew she was always happy to see me because of her smile & giggles. She still had mobility the 2 years aided her. We paced the house alot. She loved movies especially WIZARD OF OZ. Anything musical. I will always remember her humming Along to the songs. She adored her roommate Lorraine who misses her tremendously. In fact Haley loved everybody. Its been almost a year & she's been on my mind alot. My condolences to the family. RIP HALEY .. fly high sweet angel. I always think of you when I hear the song Second Chance by Shinedown. "I just saw Haleys comet..."

I remember her sweetly singing her favorite songs, right on pitch. If not for the unfairness of her cruel disease, she might have become a musical sensation. She might have become many, many things.

I thought it might interest you to know that Britni came home and told me that during the times over the past year, when Haley became inconsolably unhappy, the only thing that would give her comfort was nice music. Britni would sing to her and she would hum along. At the last they would close the curtains so it was dark and quiet and turn on beautiful music....it became the only thing that eased her suffering. Yesterday....during the funeral Britni said she felt this overwhelming desire to watch the Wizard of Oz and so of course they did. It wasn't until she listened to this funeral recording that she understood why.
Again....my heart and prayers go out to you. Somewhere Over the Rainbow has always been one of my favorites......clearly Haley had good taste......and now she sings.

A beautiful face and, as reflected in the comments here from those who knew her, an incredibly beautiful spirit, as well. You must take comfort in knowing that Haley’s spirit is free from the burdens she endured, that despite her affliction, she overcame its barriers to bring joy and inspiration to those around her, and that her passing was eased by the love of her family both here and in the hereafter. May you find peace until you are all together again.

Hailee was like the comet that somewhat carries her name, she visited the Earth and showered it and its many inhabitants with water, her tears of joy and sorrow----- and then she moved on. From now on, Hailee will return to us in our memory much more often.

I was so blessed to be a part of Hailee's life for a few years taking care of her and loving her as my own. People who didn't work in the field I did would say to me, she is so blessed to have you in her life. I completely disagree. I was the one who was blessed to have her in my life. She had such an amazing, strong, preserving spirit. She was by far the strongest person I have ever known. I thank God every day for allowing me to be even a small part of the sunshine she radiated without saying a word. She taught me so much and I can only hope she knows how special she was to me. I spent many hours singing, reading, walking the floors and trying to help her find some comfort on the days she was in agonizing pain and so miserable being stuck in a body that wouldn't do what she wanted or say what she was feeling. I find a great sense of peace knowing she can run free now and say the things she wants. I only hope she knows how much I love and cherish her and the time I was able to spend with her. I love you Hailee and can't wait to see you on the other side where we can visit and hug and laugh and embrace eachother. I am sad for us but so happy for you that you are finally free from the restraints of your physical body. I love you sweet girl. Til we meet again you will be in my heart!

I never knew Haley personally but my daughter was one of her care givers these past 7 years and I can tell you that this very special young lady made a huge impression on my daughter; she could tell just by looking at her that she was very intelligent, that her mind was always speeding along as she desperately tried to convey her thoughts, feelings and wishes to those around her.
Britni came home and was visibly upset, when questioned she told me that Haley had passed away; that her life was a miracle, that she had held on for so long was a miracle and that she was now free from her painful restraints Haley could live at last and that was a miracle.
My condolences go out to Haley's family.....what a heartbreaking situation to have had to face. My prayers certainly go out to you now.

I'm sorry for the loss of your dear loved one, Haley, may you find comfort in the God of all comfort, Jehovah, (2 Corinthians 1:2) in his word, the bible, in Psalms 34:18: Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. God's word, also says in Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces...For Jehovah himself has spoken it.(Psalms 83:18; Titus 1:2) Isaiah 33:24; Revelation 21;3-5; / John 5:28,29; John 11:25,26; Acts 24:15. This is what God's Kingdom, under Jesus Christ rulership, will accomplish in the very near future, for all those who love righteousness. The true God, promises in his word, in Psalms 37:11,29:.The meek will posses the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace 29: The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it. Psalms 104:5; Psalms 115:16; Ecclesiastes 1:4; Job 33:25; Isaiah 35:5,6; Isaiah 65:21,22; Psalms 37:34. (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)
