I just wish we had been doing things together. My kids would have been so happy to be around a person that always thought about them and included them in the way that Rick did his own children. It was so heartwarming to hear the kids talk about their dad and how much they loved him. This is a great family. I am so sorry that I didn't get to know him better

I knew Rick through our many construction projects together. More importantly, I really enjoyed golfing with him. Rick was a real gentleman with a great heart. I will miss him. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

I got to know the Wheadon's through Maddie and the drill program at Lone Peak. What struck me about Rick was his devotion and support. Whether it was saving seats long before a competition started or frying maple bars, he was there with a smile. He'd even dance in drill downs! Now that's a great dad! And his pride in Maddie was evident! I'm very sorry, Wheadon Family, for your loss.

Sister and Bishop Wheadon were serving during my sophomore year, and the ward felt so unified and full of life with them there. I will never forget the Halloween party where Bishop Wheadon showed up in a gorilla costume. He never failed to shake my hand when he saw me, and he was truly a great man full of charity and joy.

Oh, I am so sorry. My heart goes out to your family. Sister Wheadon, you and your husband made the Provo YSA 22nd ward a welcoming place of love. I will always remember him as the first bishop at BYU that made me feel like I truly belonged in the ward for the first time since my dad passed away in 2010. I love you and will pray for you and your family.

Sister Wheadon and family,
I will always remember Bishop Wheadon from the 22nd YSA ward. He was someone who I looked up to as a counselor and friend. He kept me going when I wanted to give up. I'll remember him always and my prayers are with the Wheadon family!

I served with Rick in AWWA and he was a dedicated and engaged water professional. Rick and his wife Jana served as our hosts when my wife and I visited the Intermountain Section of AWWA to represent the association as a visiting officer. Rick and Jana were very warm and hospitable. One afternoon they took us on a tour of Yellowstone Park and I will never forget Rick's amazing eyesight and awareness of the variety of wildlife even as he was driving. Thanks to Rick we saw more than we ever would have on our own. Jana and family Cindy and I send our deepest sympathies and condolences. Rick was a blessing to all and will be forever missed. Bishop Wheadon was my bishop in my time at the University of Utah. During a challenging time academically, being away from my family, and just wanting to make it thru my last two years in Utah, Bishop Wheadon was always encouraging. He never judged, always checked in and made sure I was doing okay. I appreciate his smiles and the love he exuded. He and Sister Wheadon were so helpful and kind during that period of my life and I thank them both for their help through my journeys! Aloha and prayers to the Wheadon ʻohana at this time. Me ke aloha pumehana, Ashley.
