I am truly sorry to hear of Chris's passing. He was a quiet, intelligent, thoughtful man. Though we both worked at eBay, we were not on the same team. I got to know him after the death of his son because I reached out to him after I heard of this terrible event in his life, having I lost a brother when I was 15, and I wanted to try to offer some consolation if possible. I had just recently asked about him at work a few days previously to hearing about his death because I hadn't seen him in several months. Hopefully now his sadness can ease, and he will be able to be reunited with his son again. RIP

Chris was a sweet soul and such a great father and grandfather. Afton will miss her 'date night' with Grandpa Nicholes. She especially loved going to Hobby Lobby. I know it was a great reunion in heaven when he was surrounded by his son and others. He will be greatly missed. Love to his family and especially Cheryl, Jessica, Afton & Holden.

Chris was a seasoned investigator at eBay by the time I started in 2000. I sat near him and at first he intimidated me a little...he'd look at me and send me this non-verbal 'check out this rookie...pfffft' message. Didn't take long to get through that hard shell and I really valued his friendship, expertise and sense of humor. Many a chat on everything under the sun...and plenty of good laughs. Regret I haven't contacted him since leaving eBay several years ago--was thinking about him just last week. Shame on me for not reaching out. Rest in peace Chris. Thanks for the positive influence you've had on my life.

"Yet everything happens a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five time more. Perhaps not even that. How many times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless." -
It was a tremendous honor to both meet and get the chance to work with you over the years Chris. I'll remember you and your contributions always. So sorry for your loss Cheryl and Jessica, and the rest of your family. We will miss him...

We are heartbroken at the loss of Chris who was a Son to us, who with our Daughter Cheryl gave us two wonderful Grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher, and Jessica's sweet children Afton and Holden. We will miss him but know he has been reunited with Christopher who he loved and has missed so much.
So grateful for the knowledge that we will one day be together again with our loved ones.
We will miss our get together around the firepit.
Sending love and prayers to my sweet Daughter, Granddaughter and Great Grandchildren, as well as all our family and Chris family who loved and will miss him.
