Obituary of Edna Fay Roundy Thornton
dna Fay Roundy Thornton, 88, passed away May 31, 2017 in Cedar Hills. Born November 8, 1928 in Highland, Utah to Clarence and Nora Agnes Leonard Roundy. She married John Gilbert Thornton on March 31, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
After retirement John and Fay spent a lot of time traveling in their RV. They served a mission in the Saint George LDS Temple Visitor Center and historic sites, and for 24 winters Saint George was their home.
She was known as “Little Sweet Fay Fay Mother of All” while working at the Utah State Developmental Center. Everyone in her family leaned on her testimony. She was a great example of prayer.
Fay is survived by her children: Linda Joe (Steve) Chipman, Debbie (Jerry) Frank, Nora Kay (Jim) Burnett, Johnny Thornton, and Becky (Woody) Bird, 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and a sister Lozina Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Monday , June 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the American Fork 21st Ward, 290 North 900 East. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and Monday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.. Burial in American Fork Cemetery.
