Obituary of Jotham Matthew Draper
Our beloved Jotham Draper passed away July 31st at 5pm in the arms of his parents and in a home full of friends and family.
He was born November 29th 1997 to new and anxious parents and proved a blessing to them and the world from the moment he opened his bright blue eyes. As he grew he brought his unique perspective into the world, and lived a life of gentility and kindness in his own remarkable way. We will sorely miss his deep knowledge of esoteric topics, the delightful non-sequitur he would add to many a conversation, and the constant kind presence he has served in the lives of all who meet him.
In his nineteen years of life he grew from an autistic kid who they predicated would not grow intellectually to a remarkably intelligent high school graduate with aspirations to become a video game tester and critic. He worked his first job at Deseret Industries as a dedicated employee, and even as his health failed he worked for as long as he could until his illness prevented him from doing so.
To know Jotham is to love him. He has served as a blessing to all of us and we aspire to continue to shine his light into the world as we attempt to live up to his example.
Jotham, we already miss you.
Jotham we be sorely missed by his parents, his brothers and sisters: Diamalynne, Jareth, MiKayla Ward and James McCallister, his grandparents Richard and Barbara Draper, friends family and all others that came to know him. He is reunited with his grandparents Clark and Julia Chadwick.
